I did a search for his ship and this time it came up on that Navy website. (I was searching for other ships for some fellows at Michelle's b-day party in Waldport.) I was in the midst of great company. One brother was ex-Navy from the USAT Irvin L. Hunt, home port Richmond, CA in 1946, another was her neighbor, an ex-Marine and Silver Star recipient from the Pacific Islands campaign, and their branch president, a Korean War veteran. They are all in Michelle's parent's branch in Waldport and they came to her birthday party.
