Microwave Fire

Microwave Fire and the rest of the photos that were on my phone.  It's dubbed the Microwave Fire because it started near the microwave tower in Mosier, OR.

thats awesome. Lynh and I are staying at a hotel on santa monica beach right now, and we can see the huge billows of smoke on the eastern horizon where there are some really large fires right now. thats cool you get to go out and battle the blazes, even if it means being 15 miles away in a tent.

How interesting, Scott.  I never thought about the need for having a "techie" out on stuff like this.  Thank goodness for modern technology, huh?

Just talked to Scott a couple of hours ago and asked for some pics and he said only on his cell so was really excited to see he got them transferred.

So all of these were on your cell?  I know you didn't run home and take pics of the suit and the spider.

Yeah its me again.  Just heard there were 3 civilian casualties in our fires today.  Brad washed Jodi's car and it already has ash all over it.  So glad you have this job where you can provide tech support to those in the fields.  Seen Smokey the Bear?

Scott, what were you doing exactly? Is this your normal job or something separate?

Wow.  Neat picks.  Looks like you were having some excitment while wifey was on her adventure.

I set up laptops for the admins to use.  I am responsible for providing Internet and Intranet access for ODF employees at firecamp.  I also set up printers and fax and troubleshoot any issues that users have while they are at the fire.  So after the first 15 hours of intense work, the work alleviates and it gets pretty slow.

Thanks for adding these.  Our fires are so bad.  Two firemen just died.  A family was told to avacuate 3 times and they refused and now they are trapped and wanting rescue but the firemen have told the sherriff that he cannot go in by heli or road as it is too dangerous.

Jay -- were you guys staying at the Loews?  Shutters?  Man, we love SaMo -- wish I had known you were going down.
