Sea Otter Classic - Cycling

Went with my friend Scotty and his daughter down to Monterey Bay - Laguna Seca raceway, to watch the Sea Otter classic cycling races. Took Kai and Mailynn. We had a good time, but it was REALLY hot and there was little or no shade at all.

I can't believe how many bikes were there, both being ridden, demo'd, shown, etc. It was bike mania.

No idea they did this.  Kind of a shame for a world class race track don't you think?  Last time I was there I watched World Superbike races.  It would be an eerie silence watching bicycles pass you by.

This looks like cyclocross...sort of.

Sean, every Monday and Tuesday night you can go and watch bikes circle PIR if you'd like.  Of course, the track is so flat there that it always comes down to a harrowing bunch sprint at the end.  I won't ride them until later in the summer after my Ironman race (too much chance of getting taken out), but I'd go race if you'd go watch.
