First of all, a big thank you to my mom and Holly for posting things and sending emails so that you all could see the baby some time before his first shave! But hey, I don't think I need to tell many of you how intense the first few weeks with your first infant are!! But down to business! Eliot Charles Incorvia was born at 6:29 AM May 9, 2009, and weighed exactly 9 lbs. (9 must be his lucky number!) He was 21 1/2 inches long and virtually vernix-free, making it quite clear along with his weight that my estimated due date of May 1st was probably more accurate than the doc's of May 7th. No matter how you slice it, he's a big boy! After two bizarre bouts of labor that ended after 5-6 hours each days before he was actually born, the "real thing" was an intense and short 4 hours...only one hour of which was in the hospital!! Not exactly the peaceful hypnobirthing experience we had been aiming for, but I did do it without any drugs. To clarify, Eliot does have only one L and one T just like the authors T.S. Eliot and George Eliot. Charles is after Phillip's father. Incorvia since we decided he's a keeper!! Can't wait to show him off to all of you!
