I drove this car for over two hours up and down the Santa Ynez Mountains today and it is a dream. We rode right past the gates of the entry to Michael Jackson's Netherlands Ranch, and could  also see the hills around Ronald Reagan's Ranch. Made and offer and he countered. It needs some work but nothing major. Already found a place in LA which can rebuild the radio for me, and a storage warehouse right across from my office where it can be kept.  If all works out, the owner will trailer it down to me next week. He didn't want me to risk driving it so far, and offered to deliver. He owns a machinery rental and equipment yard and has a truck and car trailer to use. He also has in his fleet 8 other cars, mostly Studebakers. The economy is forcing him to sell off his fleet.

Brad is in the car-buying mood!  Go Brad!  So bummed you didn't get a picture of the Neverland Gates, that's so cool.  And on another side note - did you hear they're proposing a new $50 US bill?  Eliminating Grant and putting Reagan on it.

Its being trailered down Tuesday--the guy just called. I am having custom license frames made for the original yellow and black 1940 plate to read "Joe Hubbs Studebaker". Joe was my grandpa who sold these  cars when they were new.

If all goes well, I will have it at Donut Direlicts next Saturday at 5:00 AM for the show! This is the one in HB which draws at least 100 cars each Saturday. You'd have to be a direlict to get up that early on a Saturday to drive your car....
