TurtleFox Glossary

My Home: This page contains all content accessible by you. Similar to a 'dashboard', you can control items such as comments, blog posts, forums, photo albums, calendar events, etc.

Visit this page often, to view New Comments made by your friends and family to content that you have posted to TurtleFox.

As your list of friends and family grows, you can create Groups to stay organized as you keep in touch.

 

Members page: This page contains a summary of all registered members of TurtleFox. See the newest members to join, members currently online, and the most active members of the day.

 

The Grapevine: Each member of TurtleFox has their own Grapevine that allows other users to post comments, give shout-outs, or just say hello. Grapevine's can be customized inside your Privacy page to control who can view and post on your Grapevine. You are not allowed to post comments on your own Grapevine.

 

Photo page: Visit this page to view photos published on TurtleFox. You can view your own photos, photos submitted by your friends, and photos organized by Groups*.

 

Blogs page: A Blog (short for "Weblog") is an interactive, personalized Web journal for posting your views, rants, raves, reviews, opinions, experiences; anything that you want to share. You can make entries to your Blogs any time you want. From news updates, to humor, insights, outrages, loves, hates, true and fictional stories, whatever you want. It's up to you.

On the Blogs page, you can view your own blogs, blogs posted by your friends, and Group* blogs.

 

Calendar page: Plan events, parties and reunions, or simply announce weddings, birthdays, or any other occasion by using the Calendar page.

 

Forums page: The Forum page is primarily used for 'informative discussions'. Perhaps you have a question about a certain topic. Or know an answer to a topic posed by another user. Visit the Forums often, and earn Member Points.

 

Groups page: As your list of friends and family grows, organizing your correspondence will be critical. With TurtleFox, you can create a unique Group of specific individuals. Or, someone you know may create a Group and ask you to join.

The access to all content submitted to TurtleFox can be controlled using this one-of-a-kind Group technology.

 

Member Points: TurtleFox.com keeps track of all of your contributions to the site such as comments, blog posts, forum participation, photo albums, calendar events, etc. This helps members know how involved each other are in TurtleFox.com!

Points are awarded as follows:

  • Blog: 5
  • Album: 5
  • Event: 3
  • Grapevine comment: 1
  • Comment: 1
  • Rating Vote: 1
  • User referral: 20
  • User referral assist: 5 (coming soon)

 

My Inner Circle: This is the most intimate collection of your friends and family. You can add/remove members from your Inner Circle by visiting 'My Home' page, and clicking on 'Inner Circle'.

 

Featured Friends: On your My Home page, you have a section displaying Featured Friends. You can control this collection of friends, by visiting 'My Home' page, and clicking on 'Featured Friends'.

You may select from the following feature sets:

  • Show my 10 friends with the most TurtleFox Member Points.
  • Show my 10 newest friends.
  • Show a random selection of 10 of my friends.
  • or Turn off my Featured Friends.

 

Photo: An individual image.

 

Photo Album: A Photo Album is a collection of photos. Each album may contain up to 60 photos. Typically, an album will contain photos relating to a specific topic, as explained with a title and description.

 

Album Cover: Each Photo Album contains an Album Cover. This is simply the photo listed first in the album. It is recommended that you select a photo from the album that best summarizes the entire album. The Album Cover will be the photo displayed in the Photo Albums page, along with the title and description.
