As many of you know, we experienced a couple pretty scary days where the site was down, and we thought for a while we might be in danger of losing our hard drive. After a lot of work by the hosting company, they were able to save everything, and we're now spending a few more bux to have everything backed up regularly.

In addition, a few new features have been added.

  • You now have the ability to clear/ignore all new content. I know many people out there (my wife) have hundreds of blogs/photos they're never going to open, and just wanted an easy way of clearing that list.
  • You now get notified when people post comments on your events. I never knew so many people said happy birthday to me! So if you all of a sudden see new comments on your events, it's because I just added, not because you just got the comment.
  • My favorite new feature of all is there is now a "Read next new comment" link in your alert box that allows you to easily one-click your way through all your new comments, without going back and forth a dozen times to your "My home" to read all your new comments.
  • Some people have already noticed the donation box as well. This is recently added for anyone that wants to contribute a few bux to help pay for some faster servers, the backing up of all the data, and some more bandwidth.

Hope everyone had a great summer!

That was scary when TurtleFox was down! I've come to rely on my daily fix of family chatting. It's been so cool to have this site and be able to see and hear what extended family/friends are up to. I feel like we've all gotten to know each other so much better through this site, and it's always fun to see the photos especially of kids, new babies, and places I might want to visit! I'm glad to see the donation box addition -- funny because just last night Brent & I were talking about how I would like to support TurtleFox in some way. Seems like I get so much for nothing! Thanks for all your hard work on this site, Jay & Geoff.
