The perfect job

Submitted by geoff on Thu, 05/22/2008 at 8:24am.

how do you get fired as a weather forecaster?  It appears they are just allowed to make mistakes all day every day.  Need a 10-day forecast?  Just throw together some random numbers and sunny and rainy icons, and forget about it.  Don't worry if its wrong.  You have 10-days to change it.

Why do they even bother spending millions of dollars and all these hours on tv and radio telling us what the weather is going to be?  Seems like the worst science in all of the sciences.

I have been following the 10-day forecast for the weather this weekend for exactly 10 days now, and it has changed every single day.  I wish i could do that at my job!

Yeah...are there still so many variables in the atmosphere that our super computers cant calculate what the temperature is going to be 5 days from now? I guess its like any job where you are predicting the future...you are rarely correct. Look at stock traders, the majority guess wrong and cant beat the market.

hahhaha.  Ya, It's almost pointless to look at 5 day forecasts.  50/50 chance that the forecast will be correct, what's the point?!
