Oregon Thanksgiving 2008

Submitted by Tachale on Mon, 11/03/2008 at 9:24pm.

Hello all Severson Family that will be in Oregon for Thanksgiving.  Here is the latest update.  Originally, Aimee and Allen were hoping to host the annual Turkey Day festivities, but at this point it appears their remodel will not be completed and so I am now the "back up host".  I know that we have almost all of Ralph and Sue's family traveling in, as well as most of the folks here in Oregon, and even at that, we won't come close to the record of 2 years ago when we had 76 people for Thanksgiving, but still I would like to try and get a semi-accurate head count at this point to figure out how many rooms we will be cleaning up and how many tables and chairs.

All are welcome to join us and we will make food assignments later, but for now I just want to get a rough estimate of the numbers and then we can go from there.  Of course, on the off chance that a miracle happens we may still move the venue back to the new mansion on Tarleton Court.

Shelley

From the RFS side we will have:
Ralph, Sue & Kellyn coming from Orinda and Provo; Aimee et al, temporarily homeless and attending; Chris, Pam and their 4-kid entourage driving up from Orinda; Melissa & JD with boys will come down from Seattle. Our only MIA's are Laura and Jonathan, who moved today from California to Utah and will have Thanksgiving with Jonathan's family. Pam's sister Jackie was invited to join us, but will be working and getting her double-time-and-a-half at the hospital. As they say in the south, we'll fix her a plate.

Allen will have some family members in town, too - his parents for sure plus possibly more. We will try to get a count.

I'm not sure what we are doing.  You will have to ask the boss.

JD started work yesterday in Seattle (I'm still in UT for a little bit longer) so like my dad said count us in. So that is 4 more, although I've already put on enough weight to be considered eating for 2 if you want to consider that in the food preparations. Hopefully I'll still fit in just one chair though.

We are committed to eat with my dad, so we won't be there.  May come by after dinner depending on the timing.

I can't believe there won't be TG at the Ralph Severson home--breaking of a major tradition but happy for Sue and condolences to Shelley.

I don't think we will be there.  If we are it wouldn't be until later or maybe early before you eat.
