New Chess site for Kids

Submitted by Jay on Thu, 04/29/2010 at 2:30pm.

So, as is usually the case, I like to use TurtleFox to advertise new sites that I'm invovled with, and I thought this one was particularly useful/interesting for lots of people here who have mentioned that their kids enjoy chess from time to time, or have kids that are members of their chess club at school. We took the tools and features of Chess.com and repackaged them up into a more kid-friendly, kid-safe website, and called it ChessKid.com.

I'd love to hear some feedback from parents as well as kids ages 6-13'ish who have time to try out the site and some of the tools. We spent a lot of time building a beginner video which you can watch at:

We still are in soft-launch mode, but should be sending out a large mailer to chess.com in the coming days which is when we anticipate the site picking up some steam. Let me know if you find any issues or bugs, and let me know what other thoughts you might have.

thanks!

I love the site.  I sat Macy on my lap and had her watch the video.  Jodi heard the tutorial across the roomm and likes the guy's voice.  Who created and produced the video?

I watched it and Mailynn said she would help me learn to play chess.
