My Uganda Trip!

For those of you who don't know, I am leaving tomorrow to travel to Lugazi, Uganda for 6 weeks to work with the organization HELP International. I will be focusing mostly on business and teaching small businesses to manage books, basic business practices etc. The program is pretty cool because you get to individually make your own project and do what interests you.

Some other people are working in orphanages, building adobe stoves, teaching English, building libraries, and public health/medical clinic work. Along with business I will also work in these other areas to help others with their projects.

As I said before I'm leaving tomorrow and will be gone til about mid June. I won't really have phone access, but I'll have internet use. So to keep in touch I am starting a blog at http://kellynseverson.blogspot.com/

I'll also try and do posts directly on turtlefox, but i'm not sure how much internet time I'll have and what the connection will be like. Thanks to everyone who's supported me thus far, and I hope to hear from all of you soon!

Kellyn and a couple of friends have worked very hard to earn money for their Uganda project. They've had the biggest ever bake sale making over 2000 cookies and over 50 pies, then delivering them personally. Too late to bake any more but if anyone wants to make tax-deductible contribution, send check made out to HELP International here to home address 67 Martha Road, Orinda 94563.

As usual Kellyn you make your grandparents proud. We saw the immense amount of bagged up cookies you had on the table before we left Monday a.m. Hope you have a very interesting and enjoyable time. I'm sure it will be very educational.
