Lynh's Surgery

Submitted by Valorie on Thu, 10/30/2008 at 6:38pm.

Just to let everyone know Lynh is going in to have her appendix removed in the morning.  She has had some problems for a few weeks and has been on antibiotics but she does have to have it removed so it is scheduled for tomorrow monring at 7:00.  It will be an outpatient situation where she will go home tomorrow night about 5:00.  She is a little nervous about being "put out".  I am sure she would appreciate everyone remembering her in your prayers.

Lynh - hope everything goes well.  And that one day we can compare appendix stories, and laugh.

Will it be done laproscopically? (I know I'm spelling that wrong...) I have a great appendicitis story too - we should have a blog about appendix problems after you're all done. I want to hear Geoff's story! I hope everything goes smoothly and that your recovery is fast!

Good luck Lynh, I'm sure all will go well. At least know you know you'll never be able to have appendicitis again!

No Sarah, you don't want to hear Geoff's story.  He will distort it that his mom was unsympathetic.

Geoff, you are the one that insisted on staying at EFY--"it was just a stomach ache" AND you are the one that wanted me to purchase the full ticket at Raging Waters as you would feel better soon.

I"m glad, too, Lynh, hope you have a quick recovery! And that it's better than Geoff suggests - the laparoscopic version shouldn't be as hard to deal with as the version he would have had.

Can you believe Lynh came home at 11:00?  She had 3 small cuts and was done laparoscopically.  Amazing.  Medical advances.

Ben told me (before I made him take me to the ER) - "just keep throwing up, it will make you feel better" after I had been throwing up all night long while he slept in bed. One of my many stories where my sweet husband was not so sympathetic! I think he felt bad later when they said my appendix was about to explode and needed to be pulled out...

So I had a chainsaw surgery too. I bet we have similar scars. And my recovery was miserable. I'm glad Lynh's was done the nicer way!! I think there is a huge difference in how you feel afterward.

I just read all the comments to Lynh while she's laying on the love sak. She says thanks for the support. She's on the vicatin every 4 hours...still in quite a bit of pain and discomfort, but is in a much better mood today than yesterday.

I'm so glad things went to well for you Lyhn. I had mine out at age 9 and that was aloooog time ago.  thank goodness for the surgical procedure which I won't attempt to spell.  At least since we each only have one appendix you know you won't have to do that again.

We missed you yesterday, Lynh, at the early Thanksgiving dinner - oh, and you too Jay. Eric defeated Jon in chess, so was feeling a little cocky - we needed you to bring him back down to earth. Glad the surgery went well, Lynh, although there is no procedure that doesn't have a painful aftermath, hopefully brief.
