Looking for some help jump starting a couple websites

Submitted by Jay on Tue, 08/18/2009 at 4:13pm.

Within the last few days our team has launched a couple new websites and just thought I'd post them here in case anyone has some time to do a few things to help get these communities jump-started. Here is what would be helpful:

- Register & Login (and upload an avatar)

- Post in the forums, articles, etc

- Add a few comments wherever you can, ask questions, answer questions, etc.

The goal is so that when we get legitimate users coming to the site, they get the feeling there are active communities here that will make it worthwhile registering and asking questions, etc.

The two sites are:

http://www.tanning.com/

http://www.karate.com/

thanks!

So who owns the domains?  R u a partner or contractor?  Pretty stout domains!  Joined both of them...

thanks dad. we partnered with the domain owners, so our team got a small but reasonable amount of equity in the two domains/companies. We're in the process of other potential partnerships using the same technology platform, so we'll see how it goes. Obviously we took the technology from Chess.com (notice the similar behavior/features/layout.)

I felt funny joining tanning.com as I am so opposed to tanning--ha ha  Not that I do karate either.

Fun!  I like how it automatically plugs in St. George in the search line, that's nice.  I'm a member now!

I was blown away by how many tanning salons actually exist within a few miles of our house. I had no idea it was that popular.

Yeah, that was weird having Fountain Valley pop up on the home page.
