Heart Stress Test and Ultrasound

Submitted by Brad on Wed, 04/15/2009 at 6:00pm.

With every male in my immediate family, father, brother, and grandfather--all victims of fatal heart disease in their 50's, I decided to go in for a complete  heart scan at UCI Hospital today. The first test -a few weeks back (EKG) showed a possible enlargement of the right side. That scared the willies out of me. So I went in for the full treatment today, and got a completely clean bill of health. They ran me a full 30 minutes on the treadmill to the highest limit and I maxed and exceeded the normal tolerance for a 56 year old male!  Recovery was also good. The cardiologist said the EKG reading was probably bad due to something called a "nerve bundle rhythm reading."  Maybe Chris can explain that one.  Anyhow, I don't have an enlargement and all appears good. Which means I can continue runnning every day and try to shed some more weight.  I feel truly blessed and SO relieved.

Thats good news Brad!!  If you can run at 56 I should be able to run at 32.  How far do you run?

Walk two miles and run a mile each morning. I am going to increase to 3 miles running so I can get into 5K runs again. I love it,  feels so good each morning. I used to run 10K's and it was great.

So the lesson is don't have an EKG as they scare you to death.  Ha ha --glad Brady is good for another few years.

Wow, this computer is something else.  It's got to be something pretty easy like a cable in the fan.  Have you taken the side cover off and looked?  I am going to call you RIGHT NOW!

OK, called her and walked her through taking the side off.  Looks like a cable was dragging in the video card fan.  OK now and Charlotte fixed it herself.

Not sure what Sean's blogs have to do with my heart test, but I do happen to remember the cables they hooked up to me falling off while I was on the treadmill. Maybe Sean fixed that, too! His mechanical genius spreads to medical technology as well, I suppose.

That was werid.  Who in the world is Sean talking to?  I had the same problem when Scott or Jay fix my computer and then I carry it back home in the car and I have to go in sometimes and fix things.

Hey Brad, that's real good news! I had the whole works a year or so back, and they said I would live - and they were right!.  Better than the Weather guy.....  I do have a murmur of sorts, have to take antibiotics to get my teeth worked on...  Keep up the good work!

That is really weird.  Jay?  I think the database went nuts.  Those are supposed to be in Charlotte's computer blog and they both somehow jumped over here.  I was wondering what happened to those after I posted them.

Mailynn has suggested Sean as the right person to fix all things. She said that on our last visit and we all howled in laughter.

No Sean, I think it is the user that is having the problem.  Obviously you were on the wrong blog.
