Funny but So True! Where have all the real men gone?

Curious what everyones thoughts are to the article below. I found the sitting while urinating especially funny because one of our friends actually does that because his wife doesn't want any splashing.

(NEWSER) – “Real men don’t wear skinny jeans.” They also don’t wear V-necks, “accessorized scarves,” or the colors pink and purple, and the very thought of male waxing makes them “nauseous.” All this according to Jane Gilvary, who bemoans the death of the manly man in The Bulletin. “When did men in America go from being masculine steak-eating, plaid-shirt-wearing, Old Spice-smelling, cigar-smoking cowboys who like football, hunting, and Clint Eastwood movies to skinny-jean-wearing, satchel-carrying, pierced ear metrosexuals who like chick flicks, The View, and Bath & Body Works?”

She blames all this on “the over-feminization of society” and feminists who suppress “boys’ innate masculinity by banning competitive, rough games like dodgeball and tag on the playground, having co-ed teams, not keeping score in soccer games, and rewarding passive, demure behavior.” The result? “Pantywaist pushovers who will cry during Steel Magnolias and urinate sitting down” and, ultimately, a shortage of “male leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists and heroes.

I have already had the discussion with many of you men about shaving legs and chests.  I know you need less resistance on your legs when you ride a bike and chest hair is dirty and smelly.

I shouldn't have to point out that much of that "feminization" warning is pointed out in the Bible.  But aside from that, I do think it is lame that so many traditional things are being banned.  Even merry-go-rounds and swings being taken out of school playgrounds.  I would rather Kylie come home with a broken arm or Taylor to come home with a cut that is sure to leave a scar, then to have them do nothing all day because everything is illegal and banned.

For the boys, it seems difficult to be a rough and rowdy boy without competitive games like dodgeball.  I highly doubt that they play "smear the queer" anymore on the playgrounds.  We loved that game.

Soon we'll all be living in padded boxes watching Oprah and eating salads for all three meals.

I think a lot of this stuff comes and goes in cycles. I clearly remember guys wearing skinny jeans in the '80s, going so far as pegging them at the bottom with rubber bands. And don't say you didn't. The proper term for guys' jeans is not "skinny" it's "rocker" - at least in the boys' section of Children's Place.

I didn't peg my jeans with rubber bands, how silly.  I used safety pins.. hahahah, wow, what a horrible era.  I did wear dirty jeans to work today.  They are faded and probably unacceptable.

the 80's were the worst fashions ever.  they say styles always come back around, but if there is an era that breaks that rule, it will be the 80s.

Are you kidding me?  Have you seen the junior high/high schoolers recently?  It is 80's all over again - with 70's hair.  What an awful combination.
