I just saw that the other day.  Pretty amazing driving and car.  The things you could do with a little car like that with over 500hp.  That guy is also the owner and cofounder of DC Shoes.

It almost looks like the old Tustin Marine Base, which is right across from my office! Cool.

I don't see the point, I guess.  I keep thinking about the wasted tires, the gas, the amount of practice it must take to do this, the risks...etc.  I think I'm too tightly wound for this.  I can't even enjoy watching it.  Sorry.

i have to admit, it took awhile to load, so at first, i had scrolled down, and watched the kid ride a wheelie in that sand rail.  It ticked me off cuz the dad put him in there with no helmet.  Just stupidity.  So i was wondering what the heck?

LOL, that's hilarious.  It's funny how some people don't 'get' certain things.  Kind of like why would you want to watch sports all weekend?  Or ride a bicycle 100 miles.  Doesn't interest me at all.

Yes, they burn up a lot of tires that's true, but you need to be a gear head to really appreciate what's going on here.  The amount of HP the car has, the skill of the driver to maneuver a car that well while nearly out of control and keep it sliding around those corners as well as he does.  I was thinking the same thing though, the amount of time, tires, gas and money this guy has invested in practicing this is probably astounding.  This is a skilled driver who I would put on my 'Special License Plate' plan which would exempt him from any speeding tickets.  If he can drive like this, he certainly wouldn't have any problems negotiating highway 26 at 80mph.

I still can't figure out how it's stressful to watch, that's pretty funny.

Sorry Holly, I wasn't trying to make this another "political" agenda. I totally was thinking the same thing as I consider myself a frugal, thrifty, tight-wad.  BUT, I can see how for some people this is their thing.  Just like some people spend time and money on a cruise, trip to Europe, golf, remodel their house into a castle, drive a Rolls Royce, etc.  The difference is it seems this is a "waste" to some of us, but it is just his way of getting his thrill.  I was excited that I could enjoy the thrill of it all without having to spend a penny.  I feel he is really a well-trained, disciplined guy with an awesome skill-- I am amazed that a person can do what he does.  But it is just a skill that a lot of people feel is a waste, like the guy on TF that played computer games 10 at a time.  I would bet he says it is a stress reliever for him.

uh.... hmmmm.  I hear the sound of the engine revving, etc.  But I never once saw any video.  Did I miss something?  It was so weird.  I am using Firefox, is it not compatible with that website?

Should be, but you could try IE if you have it.  Probably something on your computer you need to update or something.

I was able to see it with Firefox, so it's not the browser itself. Maybe a plug-in that needs to be downloaded?

This is so funny.  Now, I REALLY want to see this video because I can't!  My Firefox was just recently updated, and every other video I try to see works fine, just not this one.  Ack!  How annoying!  I haven't tried a plug-in, but where would I go for that?

Cami, you should have Internet Explorer on your computer, too, so you could try watching it in that browser. Or head over here, you're welcome to watch on my computer.

Yeah.  I finally just went on IE to watch it, although it still bugs me why I can't watch it on MF.  I hate letting things go, like that, without figuring out what the problem is.  That video is AWESOME!  It so makes me want to get out there and drive.  It was so exciting to see his ability in manuvering such tight spaces.  I really liked him going around the guy on the, mmm....can't remember the name of that machine.., anyway that was really neat interaction. Wow.

Aimee, when does your family arrive today?

I love the shot from inside the car where he's casually yankin the E-brake.  Looks like he's barely even concentrating.

Yeah, the segway was my favorite.   That's why I liked the video--I could experience a piece of the thrill of what it would be like to drive a car like that without the danger.  Sean, that is how I found the article Unreal Driving.  Brad sent me the link to Heather's article and he sent me the wrong one and it was the Unreal Driving link.
