Disneyland - Buzz Lightyear Running Competition

Submitted by Jay on Tue, 12/01/2009 at 12:27pm.

I thought I'd start a permanent blog for all to post their buzz lightyear photos/scores to so we can have what Seversons love best, competitions. Of course this is open to everyone, and not just Seversons, so next time you go to disneyland, or if you have any pictures saved from last time you went, post your buzz lightyear score/picture here.

By the way, that's Kai's face behind Lynh's gun.

I think Lynh should get a handicap due to having Kai on her lap.

Darnit, I just played it and didn't email myself my score but I thought it was just under 400,000.  Freak.  Should have saved it.

Also, need to keep a running score of Toy Story.  I remember my high score clearly as being 151,000 and change.

Wish I had a Disneyland pass so that I could join in on this competition. Can I substitute Knotts Berry Farm shooting range photos instead?

Toy Story I got 162k. Definitely remember that one.

Toy STory I just got 90k.  Not bad for one hand holding Max the whole time.  I don't recommend taking a lap child on that one.  The car spins around so fast!

Aaron was so sure he hit 1 million. But I think he read one too many zero's.

Okay, so Dawn and I took the challenge today.  Dawn got about 27k on Buzz but, of course, I had a lame gun, so I only got 157k.... heheh.  (Couldn't be that I'm a lame player)  High score for the day was 1,467,000!  Unfortunately, our picture didn't show up on the screens.  Then we went over to Toy Story, and Dawn shot a 99,200, and I shot a 129,000.  The high for the day was aroound 450k.  We obviously need a lot more practice.

Just found the pic in my e-mail, only 130K. Kinda sad. I'm sure the 1.4 Million was someone who worked there.

As I remember it, last time we were at Disneyland, JD scored over 1 million on Buzz... of course the ride stopped in mid course and gave us about 10 minutes of extra shooting time. JD, you might want to verify this story?

yes, this is what i figured for all those high scores. During the busy times of the day, the ride often stops as they are loading/unloading, giving people on the ride tons of extra time. I think this is what happened, only briefly, when I scored over 400k.

Yeah, when the ride stopped for me, I was in between targets and couldn't shoot anything, even though the cars on both sides were shooting away.  The same thing happened to me on Toy Story too.  I think it stops most often when they are loading wheelchair riders.

it actually did break down about 10 people before we got on the ride.  i was ticked... if we were a few minutes earlier, i would have been inside racking up huge points.

you should have copied someone else's score and pasted that in.  your score duplicated is what gave it away too quickly.

Just got 602k today on buzz lightyear. Ride was stopped for about a minute at one point but the best target i had to shoot was a square. I'm pretty sure square is 1000, diamond is 5k, and triangle is probably 10k.

Okay, here's my picture from last trip, but it's barely 100k so I don't think I get bragging rights.

I thought were told that the diamonds were the best, then the triangles, but I guess I don't remember now.

Just went one more time with with Kai and there was no stoppage and I got 472k. The diamonds are definitely the most, just not sure on the exact points. They're hard to shoot and those only 4 or 5 on the ride.

Kai is a few months older - I'm sure that world experience gives him an advantage :-)
