Airborne settlement

Submitted by geoff on Wed, 03/05/2008 at 8:14am.

Hilarious, some lady at work just swore to me up and down that Airborne worked, and i kept saying it did nothing for me.  I am not a believer in medications, but I kept telling her to use Zicam, which works like magic, to beat down a cold.

And now, Airborne got busted.  "There was no clinic, no scientists and no doctors," ABC reported. "The man who ran things said he had lots of clinical trial experience. He added that he had a degree from Indiana University, but the school says he never graduated."   And Airborne is now being forced to refund everyone, cuz it has been proven to do nothing at all.

So you can go here and there are instructions on how to get your refunds, if you too bought this product.

I've been spending hundred's of dollars out of my own pocket (HSA account) for melanoma checks and cholesterol testing. Then I read an article in the news about a study UCI Medical is conducting through the National Cancer Institute--they think certain cholesterol reduction drugs can actually  reduce or change the incidences of melanoma. I went to the Doctor there and he says I am a perfect candidate; they will actually pay me for the study,  check for abnormal moles, remove and biopsy,  and administer medication-all free of charge for the next 7 months.  Talk about luck! This will carry me through until the end of the year, or until open enrollment so that I can choose a better medical plan. What  is really funny is that he said I appear to be very healthy, outside of being a high risk  candidate for melanoma and heart disease!!

I bought it a few times.  Maybe it works, they just didn't prove it with clinical trials.  Or maybe the placebo effect. :)

I've never bought it, too often pregnant or nursing and didn't want to try drugs that weren't officially approved. But I know my mom bought it a lot, you should tell her to apply for her refund, Laura, next time you see her.

My wife is the healthiest person I know. She keeps asking me how much in survivors benefits she will get from my Social Security.
