2 month old Eliot: now with 50% more baby!

Submitted by Jamie on Fri, 07/17/2009 at 5:31pm.

Eliot just had his 2 month check up and all is well! In fact, he is in the 97th percentile for height and weight, coming in at a whopping 24 3/4 inches and 13 lbs. 15 oz.! He would have been 14 lbs. even, but he pooped right before they weighed him! Wink He is bigger than even the 4 1/2 month old babies in our Mommy and Me group! Toting him around would be tiresome except for how he's the cutest and sweetest baby ever. He loves to "talk", which consists of multiple syllable "conversations" with mommy and daddy sounding a lot like Tolkien's elf language. He is dangerously close to making raspberry noises and loves to suck on his left index finger until he gets mad that someone is hurting his left index finger! He smiles for just about anyone now, but is especially generous to pretty aunties like Caitie. Kiss And if he is sad, he will tell you with the most adorably cliched bottom lip. All in all, he is clearly the best thing since sliced bread! See what I mean by checking out daddy's picture website: www.dailyeliot.com. Thanks for letting me gush!

I love the dailyeliot site!  What a way to get a fix and feel like I see him more often than I actually do.  Thank you, Phil!!!!

I am grateful too as it means that GOOD pictures are being taken of Eliot frequently. I got a new camera, but am still taking rather mediocre pictures because, well, I'm still me! Whereas Phillip takes great pictures even with his iphone. I'm trying to get a blog started so that any of you who want to know all about Eliot and what we're up to can follow it. I may just resort to copy-catting Sarah's blog because it's so beautiful and well done!

I love the Daily Eliot site/idea as well.  I wonder how long Phil will be able to keep it up?  You really should do a blog, Jamie.  I think the written memories are just as important as the photos.  You think you'll remember everything, but at least if you're me, it's amazing how quickly you forget!  I love reading the stuff I wrote in my kids scrapbooks.  Plus, you are such a great writer!

Seriously, SO cute!  Great Idea.  I love your gushing!  It's the best to see mommies enjoying their babes so much!

Thanks Jamie, you're so nice! Copycat all you want! I was just thinking today that my blog needed an overhaul because I've been neglecting it, especially the sidebar.

I LOVE the Daily Eliot! There are some fantastic pictures on there. I love seeing roly-poly babies in all their glory - from the chunky thighs to the big cheeks - they are so cute. I'm impressed with Eliot's stats!

The daily Eliot is such a great idea - how fun to have pictures of him every day! And definitely let us know if you start a blog, I'd love to read it.

Holy Reese's Pieces ECI!  Man I can't wait to teach him how to say things that I find hilarious and his mother finds irritating.  And you can't get mad at me Mima, you're the one who taught my daughter how to whoop me at board games while trying to cheer me up in a patronizing tone.  "Good job Daddy!  You got one right!"

Cute pictures. Typical spoiled first child who gets a billion pictures taken. :-) He's definitely big. Grace was 25" and 13 lbs 14 oz a few days ago at her 4 month appointment.

Brooke isn't a first child, but I think she already has as many pictures in her first two months as my others did in the first year. I guess that comes with a fun new camera. Brooke has her 2 month appointment next week so we'll see how big she is.

We just had her appointment and she is a big girl. She was 14 lbs 8 oz and 25 inches. They said she was off the growth chart by about the same amount for both height and weight so at least she is proportionate.

My biggest baby and toddler has turned out to be my smallest "grown up" so I don't know how much stock we need to put in our babies "poundage".  Course, I don't think that means that Nathan is going to be a giant, Aimee, --- but you never know.

I'm just waiting for Nathan to grow up to be 6'6 :-) But we'll see. I agree baby size doesn't always correlate, though. Michael was by far my biggest but he's trending towards average size now, while both Gabriella and Jared are above average in height.

Melissa, that's almost exactly Grace's measurements from her 4 month appointment. I guess she's just 2 months ahead. Brooke better start slowing down or I won't be able to send her any hand-me-downs

Well, yesterday she wanted to eat every 1 hr and 45 min (almost to the minute). I didn't think you were supposed to get growth spurts like that when you are already off the chart. I'm sure she'll slow down soon though.

Eliot has spurts like that about once every 3-4 weeks! I think that's how they stay off the charts!

That's a lot of feedings Melissa!! I hope Brooke is a fast eater at least. Her stats are impressive :)
